This is a song that my mother taught me decades ago (hand motions and all) and I, in turn, taught my children. I wonder who else may know this song. Let me know!
Be warned! It is a tear jerker!!
I heard Mr. Turkey say,
Gobble, gobble, gobble
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day,
Gobble, gobble, gobble
People say it is great fun
But I think that I shall run
And hide until the day is done
Gobble, gobble, gobble.
Mr. Turkey tucked his head,
Gobble, gobble, gobble
In his feathers deep and red,
Gobble, gobble, gobble
But they caught him by the wall!
Stuffed and ate him wings and all!
And, never ... more ... will ... turkey ... call
Gobble, gobble, gobble!

So cute; I'm trying to figure out what the hand motions would be.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh we had one that was something like this...
Albuquerque Turkey
(sung to the tune of "Clementine")
Albuquerque is a turkey
And he's feathered and he's fine
And he wobbles and he gobbles
and he's absolutely mine.
He's the best pet that you can get..
Better than a dog or cat.
He's my Albuquerque turkey
And I'm awfully proud of that.
He once told me , very frankly
he preferred to be my pet,
not the main course at my dinner,
and I told him not to fret.
And my Albuquerque turkey
is so happy in his bed,
'Cause for our Thanksgiving dinner...
We had scrambled eggs instead.
How sad! (weep, weep) lol
Happy Thanksgiving!

Betty: The hand motions are flapping "wings", hands over face to "hide", tucking your head in the crook of your arm, farmer grabbing turkey by imaginary neck, stuffing!!, shaking head and crying. LOL Of course, the last line is sung with lots of emotion and drama!

Have you noticed how a lot of children's songs and nursery rhymes always involve death or slaughter in one way or another (ie. 3 blind mice, ring-a-ring-a-roses) - I guess the writers had a sense of humour!
Happy Thanksgiving (but I don't envy you Americans two turkey in the space of 5 weeks!)
